Louis Wain Fact #11:
Wain wrote an opera composed entirely of choruses, quartettes and duets, amongst other compositions, during a time in which he was considering musicianship before becoming an illustrator. The whereabouts of these compositions have yet to surface, but later accounts exist of him entertaining guests with wild piano improvisations.

Wain was an advocate of families taking their pets with them and opposed the apparently then-common notion of letting them fend on their own while their owners were away.
