Louis Wain Fact #59:
"In writing on his art style, Wain emphasised that he always started with the ears: “if I try any other way the proportions are certain to go wrong. Why, I do not know.” This is seen in the only known footage of him drawing and might also be alluded to in this late artwork."

Dear Miss Hall,
Referring to our conversation today re Mr J Hannon late editor of map, I have just heard from his sister who thinks it wiser to wait till I hear from her again, as the doctor says that a growth is forming at the back of his eyes & this evidently means cataract possibly blindness.
