Louis Wain Fact #6:
He had at least three patents, a “Steady Cycle” in 1894, a “New Attachment to Bicycles” in 1895, and “Rangefinder” in 1915, and had invested in the inventor of a ‘near everlasting lamp’ in America. These were unfortunately later abandoned, and all further details have been lost.

Dear Miss Hall,
Referring to our conversation today re Mr J Hannon late editor of map, I have just heard from his sister who thinks it wiser to wait till I hear from her again, as the doctor says that a growth is forming at the back of his eyes & this evidently means cataract possibly blindness.
Yours faithfully
Louis Wain
