Louis Wain Fact #6:
He had at least three patents, a “Steady Cycle” in 1894, a “New Attachment to Bicycles” in 1895, and “Rangefinder” in 1915, and had invested in the inventor of a ‘near everlasting lamp’ in America. These were unfortunately later abandoned, and all further details have been lost.

Wain was an advocate of families taking their pets with them and opposed the apparently then-common notion of letting them fend on their own while their owners were away.
