Louis Wain Fact #45:
Upon graduating from the West London School of Art, he didn't go straight into commercial artwork, and instead became a teacher there. He was apparently quite a poor one, who was too shy to interact with students and himself felt that he was not gaining enough knowledge from the experience.

Wain was an advocate of families taking their pets with them and opposed the apparently then-common notion of letting them fend on their own while their owners were away.
