Louis Wain Fact #11:
Wain wrote an opera composed entirely of choruses, quartettes and duets, amongst other compositions, during a time in which he was considering musicianship before becoming an illustrator. The whereabouts of these compositions have yet to surface, but later accounts exist of him entertaining guests with wild piano improvisations.

We are pouter pigeons - can't you hear us coo?
Fleet of wing are we. Tu whit, tu whit, tu whoo!
We can carry messages through the cloudy skies,
But we fear you like us best when made into pies.
